Futuristic Formats to Obsolete Kitsch

There have been so many different ways to watch a movie since the concept of home theater was first introduced.

VHS video tapes, Betamax tapes (early VHS), Laserdiscs (early DVDs), standard DVDs (+non North American region discs that require a Region free player), HD-DVDs (early Blu-Ray, discontinued in 2008), Blu-Ray and 3D Blu-Ray discs, and of course, Let's not forget good old fashioned reels with projectors and a screen.

Each promised superior quality but eventually a new format hit the market. What is YOUR favorite way of watching media? Lately, I've just preferred streaming. It's so easy and convenient not to continuously have to put something on to watch.
